CHOIRS

There is a long tradition of choral singing in the Parish and in the Inchicore area. There are two choirs at St Michael’s .

Senior Choir
Our Senior Choir sings for the 6.30PM vigil mass. Practice is held in St Michael’s church at 7pm each Wednesday.

Currently there are fifteen members, male and female, in the choir and we are seeking new members. If you are interested in joining us, contact: Conductor Mary Hutching.

Youth Choir
Our Youth Choir sings for the 11am Parish Family Mass each Sunday. The Youth Choir offers a great opportunity for young people from 8 years of age & upwards to find their voice and build their confidence, in a fun and life giving way.

The choir has been in existence for over 40 years (it probably is one of the longest running choirs in the dioceses) and has seen many young people pass through its ranks. Over the years we have sung at 3 RTE Television Masses and made an LP called On This Lovely Day.

Practice is each Wednesday at 6.00pm in the De Mazenod centre which is opposite St Michael’s church at 52A Bulfin Rd.  All young members are offered free guitar and musicianship lessons by the choir leaders when they join – if they wish to take them.

Newcomers are always welcome. If you are interested in joining please contact Ann Kelly at annkelly1234@gmail.com. Leaders are always available to speak to parents and new members after Mass on Sundays also.

At present due to the Coronavirus our choral activity has been curtailed.
